Gary J. Shapira graduated from the University of Michigan in 1962 with a B.A. in economics and from the University of Michigan in 1965 with a J.D.  He is admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.  He is past president of the Erie County Bar Association and a member of the PA Bar Association.  Presently and since 1984, Attorney Shapira has been certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been designated as Super Lawyer by Law and Politics Magazine and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to his law practice, he currently serves as Erie County Solicitor.  His practice includes Civil Litigation, Plaintiff Civil Trial Practice, Defense Civil Trial Practice, Medical Malpractice and Commercial Litigation and Estates.
