Attorney Sue A. Beck graduated from Villa Maria College (now Gannon University) with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1986.  She practiced as a Registered Nurse while attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Law from 1987 to 1990.

Ms. Beck, an Erie native, returned to Erie after graduating from law school. She practiced with the Knox, McLaughlin, Gornall and Sennett, PC law firm for several years in its civil litigation department. While at the Knox law firm, she represented numerous insurance companies, with a particular focus on automobile insurance law.

She opened a successful solo practice in 1996 where she continued to focus on civil litigation, as well as develop an interest in residential and commercial real estate law and family law.

Sue joined Shapira, Hutzelman, Berlin, Ely, Smith and Walsh in 2004, and continues to practice the areas of civil litigation and real estate, as well as municipal and Social Security law. Her real estate practice includes representation of buyers, sellers, lenders and brokers in residential and commercial transactions. She is admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania Courts and the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Sue also serves the community as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee and past-president of the Visiting Nurses Association of Erie County, and past-president and current treasurer of the Civic Art Realty Company.
